The Golden Peanut warehouse property is located in the industrial park in Clarksdale, Ms. The site encompasses roughly 25 acres and is adjacent to the county-owned railroad spur. The facility has an office building, shop and large peanut warehouse and other supporting improvements. The improvements were originally built in 2013 and were used for a peanut buying point for several years. It has been out of use for around three years. The office contains 3,158 square feet and is a metal-frame building with an average interior finish. The peanut storage building measures 120' by 480'. The interior is divided into three sections. It has a covered truck - Trailer dump pit with a 90' elevator leg and hydraulic truck lifts and belt conveyors for moving the peanuts into the warehouse. It was licensed for 26,210 tons of peanuts. The shop building is a metal-frame building with overhead doors. The is a covered dump / transfer pit with a hydraulic truck lift and 60' elevator leg with two cleaners and five hopper bins for loadout.
The warehouse could be easily converted for corn storage. The addition of a 10' interior sidewall would allow for the storage of 400,000 bushels of corn. The elevator and conveyors are not designed to handle grain due to the weight difference between peanuts and corn. This facility offers the opportunity to have a large amount of grain storage for less than half of the cost of building new bins. There are two scales adjacent to the office for weighing loads.
